What does an orthopedics doctor do
At the Budapest Musculoskeletal Private Outpatient Clinic, we have brought together the best and most dedicated orthopedic specialists in the profession to offer the best solution for every patient with a musculoskeletal complaint.
Orthopedic specialists treat and cure congenital and acquired disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Musculoskeletal complaints and diseases can affect anyone, regardless of age or gender, from babies just a few weeks old to the oldest generation. The ability to move freely is a key factor in everyone’s life, and discomfort and pain should not limit everyday life.
Treatment options for orthopedic complaints
Our specialists always recommend a personalised treatment for our patients. We recommend conservative (non-surgical) treatments in the first instance, but if these are unsuccessful, we can also arrange surgical intervention in our partner institutions or in hospital inpatient wards.
- Physiotherapy: physiotherapy, physiotherapy gymnastics, physiotherapy massage , manual therapy, trigger-point therapy
- Physiotherapy treatments: ultrasound therapy, electrotherapy (TENS), bioptron light therapy, shock wave therapy, phonophoresis.
- Prescribing recommended medicines available on prescription.
- Prescription, purchase and fitting of recommended medical aid devices.
- Injection treatments: analgesic injections (intramuscular), steroid anti-inflammatory injections (intra-articular), joint cartilage building injections (hyaluronic acid)
What complaints should you see our orthopedic specialists about?
- Neck, back and lower back pain (both acute and chronic)
- Stiffness, dislocation, shoulder pain
- Pain in the muscles and joints of the arm and elbow
- Wrist and hand complaints: numbness, pain
- Hip pain, stiffness
- Pain radiating to the limbs
- Hamstring, femur pain
- Knee pain, bouncing knee
- Chronic calf pain, cramping, muscle pulling
- Ankle and foot complaints, spur, bunion, hammer toe
What happens during an orthopedics examination?
- Assessing current complaints (clarifying the circumstances).
- Investigation of the complaint (specialist examination; examination of posture and gait, spine and joints, deformities and abnormalities).
- A summary of the findings and possible treatments.
- Discuss diagnostic imaging tests if necessary.
- A written summary of the study.
- Prescription of medication and medical aid devices
At your request, we will organise the tests recommended by the specialist (laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI) at our partner institutions, where the best diagnostic equipment is available for our patients.
