What does a specialist in pediatric orthopedics do?
At Budapest Musculoskeletal Private Outpatient Clinic, we also place great emphasis on the healthy development of the youngest children.
The pediatric orthopedics specialist specialises in the screening, diagnostics and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in children (e.g. hip dislocation, clubfoot, scoliosis, flat foot). Children are characterised by the active and continuous development and growth of bones– muscles – joints, which has a key impact on their future life and mobility.
For this reason, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of movement disorders in childhood is of paramount importance.
In our private practice, our dedicated and experienced specialists pay great attention to thorough examination and finding the most effective, personalised treatment.
What complaints should you see our orthopedic specialists about?
- Neck, back and lower back pain (both acute and chronic)
- Stiffness, dislocation, shoulder pain
- Pain in the muscles and joints of the arm and elbow
- Wrist and hand complaints: numbness, pain

What treatment options can we offer?
Our specialists always recommend a personalised treatment that is adapted to the patient’s age and mobility. Conservative (non-surgical) procedures are recommended as a priority, but if these are unsuccessful, we can also arrange surgical intervention in our partner institutions or in hospital inpatient units.
Our conservative treatment options for children:
- Physiotherapy: special paediatric physiotherapy, infant physiotherapy (hip joint mobilisation)
- Prescription, purchase and fitting of recommended medical aid devices.
- Prescribing recommended medicines available on prescription.
What complaints should you contact our specialists in pediatric orthopedics with?
- Infant hip screening at 6-10 weeks of age
- For screening for motor development after the start of walking, and then approximately annually (flat foot examination, scoliosis screening)
- If you experience abnormal or unusual movement or gait
- In case of poor posture
- In the case of sports injuries, after acute care for proper rehabilitation
- For any other musculoskeletal pain or complaint.
