TR Therapy
The modern physiotherapy treatment, TECAR therapy, is now available at BMM!
TR Therapy, or TECAR treatment, involves targeted radiofrequency therapy. The procedure provides a unique therapeutic option for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and sports injuries.
What exactly is TR Therapy?
During the therapy, radiofrequency waves are introduced to different tissue depths using various applicators. A special device is used for this, which creates an electromagnetic field and delivers it to the treated tissues. Thanks to the interaction thus created, heat production in the affected body part and increased tissue metabolism begin. As a result of this process, muscle pain is reduced, and tissue regeneration is initiated.
How is TR Therapy performed?
TR Therapy, or TECAR therapy, is a physical procedure. The physiotherapy device includes a central unit and two applicators. These applicators/electrodes are placed on the body’s surface.
The two electrodes are positioned so that the specific body part is between the units. For example, when treating the thigh, one applicator is placed on the back of the thigh, while the other is on the front. The aforementioned electromagnetic field is then created between the two electrodes.
The treatment is painless and absolutely safe. The patient only feels a pleasant warmth during the therapy.
- During the treatment, the physiotherapist performing the therapy may occasionally perform massaging movements. If necessary, muscle activation also occurs.
- TR Therapy can be excellently combined with physiotherapy. To improve muscle movements and reduce pain, it is ideal to follow 30 minutes of physiotherapy with 30 minutes of TR treatment. The improvement achieved this way can be long-term and lasting.
- In addition to physiotherapy, targeted radiofrequency therapy can also be combined with medical massage to achieve even faster and more effective results and tissue regeneration.

What conditions does TR Therapy help with?
It is effective for most musculoskeletal complaints, including the following problems:
- Neck pain
- Impingement syndrome
- Frozen shoulder
- Lower back pain
- Tennis and golfer’s elbow
- Spinal problems
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Heel spur
- Muscle spasm relief, muscle relaxation
- Achilles tendon inflammation
- Groin pain
- Rehabilitation after traumatic injuries
- Edema
- Knee joint cartilage degeneration
When is TR Therapy NOT to be used?
- In inflammatory processes
- For those with metal implants
- In the presence of open wounds, blisters
- During pregnancy
- In case of heart problems
- For hemophiliac patients
- In cases of thrombosis and various vascular diseases
In cases of a history of malignant tumors, an oncologist’s recommendation is required for physical therapy treatments, regardless of the region.
How many TR Therapy sessions help with the complaints?
Radiofrequency treatment can achieve its maximum effectiveness if performed as a course, at least once a week. The exact number of TR Therapy treatments required for long-lasting improvement depends on the patient’s condition and complaints. Typically, 5-10 treatments bring significant improvement in the patient’s life.
During the first 1-2 applications, improvement is less noticeable, while from the 3rd session, improvement is actively felt.
