About

My motto: diligence, precision, patient-centered care!

Following family tradition, I started my secondary education in Szeged at a technical secondary school. Here I was able to successfully use and develop my manual skills. In the meantime, my interests broadened and I started to be interested in the functioning of the human body, which led me to obtain a general medical degree from the University of Szeged in 2004.

In my chosen speciality, orthopedics and traumatology, I combine the technical and medical worlds, which optimally covers my interests. For me, it is the perfect profession, which has become both my vocation and my hobby.

I successfully applied the basics I had acquired in my hometown during my 12 years of work in Germany, where, in addition to treating accident victims, I further specialised in prosthetics of the large joints of the lower extremity (hip and knee). I am used to working with precision using modern equipment. I have five years of experience in the basics of robotic surgery and navigation techniques. I qualified as a specialist in Germany (Karlsruhe). Afterwards I worked as a senior physician in the Black Forest in Freudenstadt.

In 2022, giving in to my homesickness, my family and I moved back home and I worked again at the Traumatology Clinic of the University of Szeged, where I gained further experience in the treatment of ligament injuries of the knee.

After the diagnostics are done, the medical reports are discussed in detail with the patient. My aim is that during the treatment the patient is aware of exactly what the problem is. After this information has been provided, a treatment plan is drawn up together.

I perform hip replacement from the so-called trouser pocket approach, which is minimally invasive, ensures a small incision and has the great advantage of sparing the incision of the gluteus maximus during the operation.

In addition to primary prosthesis implantation for joint degeneration, prosthesis implantation may also be necessary after hip fractures. In some cases, replacement of a previously implanted prosthesis may also be necessary. The latter is called revision surgery.

In the world of modern technology, computer-aided design is now an essential part of the preparation for prosthetic surgery. I have been using it routinely for years in prosthetic implantations. Good planning alone is not enough. Precise execution is also necessary to achieve a perfect result. In addition to the manual skills I have acquired over the years, I also use the latest technology, the so-called robot-guided surgery.

In the vast majority of cases of cartilage degeneration in the knee joint , a so-called total prosthesis implantation is necessary, but in selected cases (e.g. in the case of asymmetric wear), a so-called sled prosthesis implantation or an axial correction surgery may be considered, thus avoiding or delaying the implantation of a prosthesis.

In cases of isolated cartilage damage, especially in young and active patients , cartilage transplantation (so-called mosaicplasty) or cartilage implantation may be a solution.

In the case of recurrent dislocation of the patella, patella stabilisation surgery is necessary. A typical knee injury in athletes is a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, and the resulting instability of the knee joint also requires stabilisation (cruciate ligament reconstruction).

Injury, but also wear and tear, can lead to so-called meniscus damage, which is one of the most common causes of complaints about the knee joint. These lesions can be effectively treated by arthroscopy (keyhole technique).

If cartilage degeneration has already started, but prosthesis implantation is not yet necessary, injections of various articular cartilage protectors (e.g. hyaluronic acid) can reduce the symptoms.
