Patient Testimonials

About

…I can’t think of any other profession than surgery.

At the age of eight, he became superstitious and turned his attention to medicine, and surgery in particular, after seeing images of white coats at work on TV. He has a good hand, is humane, cares about his patients, listens to them, talks to them, because he is not only a good doctor but also a good person. He is a member of the Hungarian Society of Thoracic Surgery and occasionally lectures at orthopedics and trauma congresses.

He graduated from music school, played the piano and other instruments, and has since developed a love of listening to music and making musical instruments and hi-fis. For him, the latter is the real recreation. He is married and the father of two young men.

DEXTERITY IS A GIFT, IT MUST BE USED

“By the age of 12, I was dissecting cats and frogs. I graduated from high school with a surgical vocation, but my attention was divided between my studies and my hobbies at the time, modeling and modeling. My technical vein, inherited from my father, did not let me rest. I watched him at work in his masterful machine shop and learned a lot from him. All of my hobbies, like surgery, require manual dexterity, and I had that.”

THE FINAL DESTINATION IS THORACIC SURGERY

“I graduated from Semmelweis Medical University in 1991. I chose orthopedics as the subject of my thesis, and I was preparing it. But life intervened. I lived in Győr and got a job in the traumatology department of the Petz Aladár County Teaching Hospital. After a general surgical and a traumatology examination, a colleague of mine sparked my interest in my specialty, which I still practice today. I spent a year in thoracic surgery at the Markusovszky University Teaching Hospital in Szombathely, and then, in 2001, I passed the specialist examination for the specialty as a doctor at the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the Korányi Institute in Budapest.”

MISSION IN AFGHANISTAN

“After I couldn’t find my place in Győr, despite my three professional exams, I received a job offer from the then commander of the Honvédkórház in Budapest, where I was working. In return, I did what I had previously thought unthinkable and went on a mission to Afghanistan, where I spent seven months in 2006 and four months three years later.

There, the process of healing was not altered by the characteristics of the system at home. We were able to focus on medicine, so we could work more efficiently and with less frustration. The mission was empowering and I will have stories to tell my grandchildren.”

SPECIALIZATION

“My specialties are thoracic surgery and trauma surgery. I have a good understanding of bones, so I specialise in chest wall surgery, including various types of ribs and muscles, with a special focus on chest trauma and various reconstructions of the chest wall.”

UNDERSTANDING AND ATTENTION

“At the Budapest Musculoskeletal Private Outpatient Clinic, I deal with musculoskeletal, trauma and mainly chest complaints. There are many patients whose problems can be treated with little help from the public health system. They need someone to spend 20-30 minutes with them, explaining in detail what they need to know about their condition, and the treatment or surgical options. In the frustration-free environment of a private outpatient clinic, the doctor-patient relationship is smoother and friendlier.”

WITH TREMBLING HANDS I NO LONGER WISH TO OPERATE

“I always say that I would never start again, but the truth is that I can’t imagine any other profession than surgery. However, I don’t want to operate with shaky hands anymore and I want to be 70 and live without stress. My ambition is to put family first when I retire and to make my hobby my profession, which is to design hi-fi equipment, and I hope my son, who is interested in the subject, will help me.”
