About
I never wanted to be anything other than a doctor and I was attracted to rheumatology even during my university years.
After graduation, I got a job at the St. András State Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital in Hévíz, and after a few months I had the opportunity to work at ORFI. After the birth of my three children, I spent a longer period of time away from the institute, so I only qualified as a specialist in rheumatology in 2014. During my work in the rehabilitation department I had the opportunity to practise mainly in the treatment of degenerative conditions, joint degeneration, spinal osteoarthritis and discopathy . 2015. Since January, I have been working in the outpatient clinic of ORFI, taking care of patients with inflammation in rheumatology, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, patients requiring biological therapy and patients with osteoporosis .
In order to keep up to date with the latest developments in the profession, I enjoy attending conferences on rheumatology, osteology and borderline issues. In 2014, I successfully passed the two-year EULAR Online Course on Rheumatic Diseases in English, which is continuously updated to provide the most up-to-date knowledge.
Since 2015, I have been involved in teaching medical students – which I really enjoy – and we also give regular patient information lectures. I think it is very important that the patient is aware of the reasons for their complaints, what they can do to improve their condition and what their prospects are. In the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, it is often more than just taking a box of medicine, it is important that the patient understands and accepts that they need to be an active part of the healing – the healing process. Of course, there is a need for joint puncture, local injection. In addition to the more widely used hyaluronic acid injection, I have good experience with the use of collagen injection techniques for appropriate indications. Whatever treatment is chosen, it should be planned and carried out in a personalised way, after informing the patient and in agreement with him/her. I like puzzles and jigsaw puzzles; I think that making a diagnosis is often similar to solving them. It’s a time-consuming process, and it requires curiosity, attention and thoroughness. The real winner of an unexpected diagnosis is, of course, the patient, but it can also be a success for the doctor.
