Prof. Dr. György Szőke PhD In 1985 he obtained his general medical degree from the Semmelweis University. qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon in 1991. Since then he has been working continuously in Semmelweis University Orthopaedic Clinic, where over the last 15-20 years mainly paediatric orthopaedic surgery is carrying out an activity.
Between 1992 and 1997 he worked abroad for 5 years. One year in England at the Bradford Royal Infirmary Orthopaedic-Traumatology Department, then two and a half years In Oxford, at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, followed by a year and a half in in the United States, a year in the Alfred I. DuPont Institute, plus half a year Seattle, a Washington Univesity Department of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

During his stay in Oxford, the M.Sc. (Oxon) degree from St. Peter's College, In 2001 he received his Ph.D. degree from Semmelweis University, and in 2007 he habilitated at Semmelweis University.
In 2013, he was appointed as a professor at the Department of Orthopaedics at Semmelweis University, and subsequently became Head of Department at the SE Orthopaedic Clinic in 2017. From 2013 to 2016, he was President of the Hungarian Orthopaedic Society was. From 2018 to 2020, the President of the Orthopaedics Section of the College of Medical Specialists. For the last decade and a half he has been the head of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Section of the Hungarian Orthopaedic Society. Since 2017 he has been the Co-Chairman of the Orthopaedics-Traumatology Professional Committee at Semmelweis University.

During his professional career 134 communications in Hungarian and foreign languages has been involved in publishing, 23 textbook chapters in Hungarian and foreign languages and was editor of 3 textbooks. Honorary member of several foreign orthopaedic societies.
