For patients with a recommendation from a specialist, ENG-EMG will continue to be performed.
Unless there is a recommendation from a specialist, there is no possibility of an ENG-EMG test. In this case, the patient must first undergo a basic examination. After the baseline examination, the need for an ENG-EMG test is considered.

Dr Vághy does not see patients with general neurological complaints.

About

Member of the medical dynasty. The family also includes a hand surgeon, general practitioner, radiologist and paediatrician. Music has always been part of his everyday life. His mother played the violin, which became his instrument. His fascination with sound has remained, and he is a great fan of opera and ballet. She is a mother of three, and the fact that this does not limit her in the practice of her profession is mainly due to her supportive husband, who is equally helpful at home and with the children. She runs kilometres a day in their house, on a treadmill and in the nearby woods, guiding the family from there, and has been spinracing for 10 years.

He did not become a physiotherapist after all

„During university, I did a paediatrics internship with a paediatric neurologist, with Dr. András Svékus I worked with, and it was thanks to him that I started my professional career. After graduating in 1997 Medical University of Szeged, two years in Székesfehérvár, at the Fejér County Szent György Hospital Neurology Department where my speciality was microscopic examination of cerebrospinal fluid and the care of stroke patients. Later I moved to Pest and in 2000 I joined the Ferenc Jahn I continued my professional career in South Pest Hospital Prof. Dr. Samuel Komoly Professor as a disciple. I gained general neurological experience in the 100-bed ward, as well as specific expertise in the care of patients with myasthenia gravis and multiple sclerosis. My professional career was interrupted by the birth of my three children. I spent seven years with them at home and then, from 2011 Department of Neurosurgery, Honvéd Hospital offered me a job Prof dr. Róbert Veres Professor Herr. So I became a consultant neurologist in the neurosurgery department. Today I am still a neurologist at this hospital. I try to provide a high standard of care for patients at the hospital, but since I've been working in private practice, I have to admit that here, more time per patient and calm, cultured conditions ensure more efficient work.

There are many exciting areas of neurology

„At university, our pathology teacher and the pathophysiology of inflammation taught by him have left a deep mark on me. Now the subject of my future PhD, the neuropathic pain in employment, I am preparing to publish my hospital experiences in this context. The need for cooperation between neurology and neurosurgery is the subject of my thesis, neurophysiological testing methods. EMG (electromyography) proves it. From intraoperative neuromonitoring my job, and that's what the neurosurgery department at the hospital is counting on me for."

Alternatives are important

I started practicing traditional Chinese medicine between the birth of my children. I was attracted to the idea that I could be directly effective with evidence-based medicine, using acupuncture needles with skill. A University of Pécs Complementary Medicine I obtained my diploma in the two-year accredited course „Acupuncture and Coupled Techniques” and worked as an associate of Prof Dr Gabriella Hegyi at the Yamamoto Institute.

However, I always put traditional medicine first, and if that fails, I offer the possibilities of complementary medicine.

Since 2019, I have been the National Specialist Supervisor for Complementary Medicine and I was elected Secretary General of MAOT in 2022.

Let's have fun

„I know my place in the world, I'm happy with my life. I'm an empath, I help where I can. I like to gather people around me, and once they are there, I take care of them, at least for a few bites, be it physical, mental or spiritual.”

I am currently working at the Sleep Diagnostics Centre of the Hungarian Defence Medical Centre. I am continuing my neurophysiological training there.

I pay particular attention to the aetiological factors of “restless leg syndrome” and regularly perform neurophysiological tests.
