About
Here in the surgery, there is time to talk, to create a pleasant atmosphere, to listen to the patient with interest.
Dr. Gréta Sterba has already oriented herself towards rheumatology during her third or fourth year of university. She has always been interested in internal medicine, and rheumatology is a branch of internal medicine dealing with musculoskeletal disorders. In her practice, the most common are various spinal and joint diseases, with symptoms of gout contact gout disease (which gout with diet can be relieved), muscle pain, tendonitis, osteoporosis.
„Contrary to popular belief, a rheumatologist's office is not only visited by elderly patients, says the Doctor, but also by an increasing number of young, middle-aged patients due to a sedentary and sedentary lifestyle.”. They mainly come to him with back and neck problems, pain from tight muscles.
It is extremely important for a doctor to be thorough and knowledgeable in his profession and to keep up his training, but it is equally important to have the right relationship with the patient.
„Here in the practice, there is time to talk, to create a pleasant atmosphere, to listen to the patient with interest. A good communication and helps to ensure that patients adhere to the treatment and stick to the treatment. The models and posters in the surgery also help me to explain and illustrate the patient's illness and recovery- explains the Doctor.
I enjoy this profession not only because I can treat a very wide range of complaints, but also because the work of a rheumatologist is a real team effort: you have to work together with other medical professionals, doctors, masseurs, physiotherapists. I also think it is important to have access to precise diagnostic tests (X-rays, CT, MRI, bone density measurements, laboratory tests),” concludes Dr Sterba.”
