About
I was born in 1978 in Budapest. I spent my childhood in Budakeszi, surrounded by forests. I was introduced to orthopaedics early in my childhood in connection with my mother's congenital hip dislocation and my father's spondylolisthesis, but I did not consider their musculoskeletal disorders as a disease, but rather as a specific condition. After primary school, I was classically educated at the then Prohászka Ottokár Catholic High School, which started in grade 8. Immediately after my secondary school years, I was admitted to the Faculty of General Medicine at Semmelweis University.
During my university years, I got even closer to orthopaedics, where I was able to put my technical skills to good use. Besides university, I worked for years as a nurse's aide at the National Medical Rehabilitation Institute, where I learned to appreciate the humble work of the nursing staff, and I participated weekly in the surgical activities of the Orthopaedic Department of the O.O.R.I., where Dr. Miklós Kállay, Chief Medical Officer, introduced me to the beauty of the profession. From the fifth year onwards, as a supplement to my scientific activities, I was able to learn further skills in the operating theatre of the Orthopaedic Clinic of Semmelweis University, under the supervision of Dr. József Lakatos.
I graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine in 2004, and then continued my residency in orthopaedic traumatology. In orthopaedics, I was captivated by the insight into the wonderful workings of the musculoskeletal system, while in traumatology I enjoyed meeting a variety of challenges and getting help quickly when „trouble” happened. It was good to be part of the process of regaining walking skills, which often reminded me of the old adage of „get up and walk”.
During this period, as a newly qualified doctor, I had several second jobs. I trained as a paramedic with the National Ambulance Service. In Budapest I worked as a general practitioner in the I-XII districts, in Budakeszi and Zsámbék, and as a medical consultant for the European Travel Insurance.
During my internships I found the atmosphere and professionalism in the Traumatology Department of the Defence Hospital, headed by Mr.Zsiros, where I would have liked to work, and after my residency I had the pleasure to join the team, as a military doctor for 5 years and then as a specialist from 2012, after my specialist examination with excellent qualification. As the years went by and my professional experience grew, I was asked to head the Trauma Surgery Department of the Defence Hospital after my appointment as an adjunct professor in 2019, and since 2024.01.01. I have been conscientiously fulfilling my duties as a senior physician in this department, in addition to the remaining on-call and surgical activities. As a doctor, I am defined by empathy, focused attention and a desire to help. In my work, I attach great importance to being prepared at all times, which is dictated by demandingness and conscientiousness.
I specialise in adult orthopaedic and traumatological problems, with a focus on the lower limb. Among other things, forefoot lesions such as bunions, hammertoe; knee joint meniscus injuries, cartilage lesions, hip and knee joint abrasions, surgical evaluation and surgical treatment as necessary, whereby my surgical options at the Defence Hospital are open for both day surgery and inpatient treatment.
I prefer to spend my free time with my family. My GP wife and I have two children who brighten up our everyday lives. We enjoy walking in nature together. I enjoy DIY, mountain biking, reading, theatre and dance.
