Spitting therapy - Spitting
Sputum therapy
Many of you may have heard of sputum therapy as an old folk remedy, but what many people don't know is that a few years ago has also been successfully incorporated into movement therapy as additional treatment. Some people have reservations, but after the first session they realise that it is a very useful form of therapy.
What is spitting and how is it done?
Two tools are needed for sputum therapy: a sputum cup and a vacuum gun. The spittoon can be made of plastic or glass. The gun is used to create a vacuum in the cup, which is used to skin and the superficial muscular layer is separated from the deeper muscular layers.
What is a muscle fibre and why is it good to separate the layers?
We rightly ask: what is a muscle bundle and why is it good to separate its layers? The muscle fascia covers our whole body, smaller muscles, larger muscle groups, internal organs. It is made up of three layers, these three layers normally move over each other. Sedentary lifestyle, repetitive bad movement, trauma, immobilisation causes the layers to stick together and dry out, limiting movement and leading to pain and restricted movement. It is therefore very important to keep the muscular bones well hydrated and to move around a lot.
By spitting, we can separate the layers of the muscle bladder. When combined with movement it is even more effective.
What are the different forms of spitting?
Standing spitting
The cups are placed on the painful area and left up for about 5-10 minutes.
Standing spitting with movement
The cups are placed on the problem area and we perform simpler movements. For example, in the case of lower back pain, 6 cups are placed on the waist and the patient then bends forward, sideways and twists the trunk at a faster pace.
Sliding spitting
Apply 1 cup to the problem area. The affected area can be rubbed with massage oil or left dry (this is usually in addition to the FDM treatment). Using your hands pull the cup over the sore stretch.
The treatment can be unpleasant, rarely painful, but we are definitely compensated by the feeling of relief after the spitting.
The therapy ADDITIONAL TREATMENT, well combinable manual therapy, physiotherapy, TAPE treatment, FDM therapy.
Contraindications to sputum therapy
- Damaged skin
- We don't put it on a mole
- Parchment leather
- Long-term anticoagulant treatment
- Encephalitis
- Daganate
It is particularly well suited for use in
- Traumatic or other movement restrictions
- Lower back pain
- Relaxation of scars
Following treatment, a haematoma may develop, which will disappear without trace within a few days. The area may itch and there may be some localised bleeding, but this will disappear after a few minutes. Movements can be made more easily, even without pain. After the spitting fluid intake is very important, which should be water only, no sugary soft drinks, regular physiotherapy exercises to prevent the muscle blisters from sticking together again.
