With gait training, we can strengthen weakened pelvic floor muscles. It is very important to see a specialist (gynaecologist/urologist) before starting the therapy, as we need to know exactly what the underlying condition is. Without knowing this, treatment cannot be started!

What problems can we help with?

  • It is mainly used for stress incontinence, but can also be beneficial for emergency and mixed incontinence.
  • In the early stages of uterine prolapse, bladder prolapse, rectal prolapse.
  • In case of stool maintenance problems.

To whom do we recommend gait training?

  • For people with the problems listed above.
  • Before/after gynaecological/urological surgery.
  • For men after prostate surgery!!!

Please bring all relevant findings, test results and final reports with you to the first appointment. We start with a detailed anamnesis, listening to the patient's complaints and medical history.

Following the musculoskeletal examination, the lesions observed and the therapeutic options available are discussed.

Ideally, the patient will be given homework for the first session, which they will practise until the next session.

What does gas gymnastics look like in practice?

The first session is to learn the correct stretching of the gait muscle, which is very important as a significant number of patients do pressing instead of stretching the gait muscle, and this can take several sessions to learn correctly. Once we are confident that the correct stretching is being done, patients are slowly taught progressively more difficult exercises on the hamstrings in external postures. After 3 months of professional physiotherapy, significant improvement can be seen.
