What causes rheumatology diseases?
We distinguish more than 200 types of rheumatological diseases.
A large group of joint diseases are immune-mediated arthritis-related diseases, among which also stand out the rheumatoid arthritis or polyarthritis diseases. The exact cause of its development is not known, but genetic susceptibility triggers the abnormal immune process as a result of certain environmental influences (infections, smoking, trauma, stress).
In the case of suspected inflammatory joint disease, the diagnosis made after a rapid examination should be followed by the start of medication as soon as possible, which is why a rheumatological examination is urgent. It is up to the specialist to clarify the causes, because a well-chosen examination and treatment can shorten the recovery time by months or years.
