Therapeutic massage treatment
What is therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage has been a popular therapy since ancient times. Nowadays, countless variations are spreading around the world, but all of them are based on a personalised manual treatment.
During the therapy, the trained massage therapist uses massage techniques (stroking, rubbing, relaxing, etc.) that promote joint regeneration, relax stiff and stiff muscles and relieve pain by causing blood flow to the area. Therapeutic massage is often recommended as a complementary treatment for physiotherapy, because muscles that have been relaxed and warmed up by the massage can be loaded more easily and better during the gymnastics.
In our clinics, we use a variety of massage methods, which our therapists combine according to the patient's needs:
- Swedish massage
- Sports massage
- Relaxation massage
A special type of medical massage is reflexology, during which our qualified and experienced reflexologist massages the reflex points on the feet and toes to achieve a healing effect on the whole body.
Specifically lymphoedema and lymphatic circulation problems apply the lymphatic massage therapy, which under medical supervision, possibly combined with other treatment methods, can be an effective and natural remedy.
Swedish massage
In Sweden, massage based on the classical Greco-Roman school was further developed as early as the early 19th century. This therapy has become the most widely used form of massage and the basis for many new procedures.
The method is aimed at massaging the muscles of the whole body, relaxing the muscles, reducing back and spinal pain, increasing the metabolic processes, so that waste products are eliminated more quickly. It increases blood circulation, restores the skin's original youthful elasticity and reduces the effects of stress.
American researchers have observed that patients suffering from arthritis, an inflammatory knee joint disease, can also benefit from traditional Swedish massage for lasting improvement. More and more doctors are recommending that arthritis patients should have a therapeutic massage in addition to drug therapy. The massage can make the knee more flexible and pliable, making it easier for the patient to move more, which in itself can lead to recovery.
Relaxation massage
Relaxation massage is recommended for those who want a soothing, relaxing break. The aim of the treatment is specifically designed to relieve stress, deeply relax and balance the body and mind.
This massage is a combination of aromatherapy and Swedish massage, which, thanks to the caressing movements of the aromatherapy massage, produces a soothing, relaxing relaxation.
Recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the stress of everyday life, or just needs a little peace of mind and harmony.
Sports massage
A more specialised massage, similar to Swedish massage, although more intense, aimed primarily at the recovery of sports injuries. It focuses on the problem area, using many stretching techniques to increase flexibility. Sports massage soothes stiff muscle pain and helps eliminate fatigue. The treatment aims to speed up recovery from injury, reducing swelling in the muscles. It contributes greatly to detoxifying the body, relaxing the body and mind.
Sports massages are recommended on a regular basis, but even a one-off session can be a great help in relieving the strain on your muscles.
What is the essence of sports massage?
Properly toned, loose muscles recover more easily, faster and are able to withstand greater stress, and therefore contribute greatly to the success of athletes. However, acidified, tight muscles are prone to injury because they have lost their elasticity. This is a problem that is not only faced by athletes today: sedentary lifestyles, sedentary work and stress can lead to the same tension and stiffness.
Sports massage is highly recommended before and after sports. The aim of a massage before sporting activity is to release the muscles, after which they will be more resistant, more resilient and stronger. The aim of a post-workout massage is to regenerate muscles and prevent muscle fatigue. The aim is to expel waste products from stressed tissues.
An important complement to a sports massage is a muscle-relaxing cream. Kneading these creams into the body increases oxygenation of the muscles and improves blood circulation. It is important to use good quality, special creams that greatly increase the effectiveness of the massage.
