Biceps muscle tear
Biceps muscle tear
Tearing of the biceps muscle most commonly affects the long origin of the biceps muscle. The complaints usually include a pop, pain, haemorrhage of the upper arm after lifting a small/large weight and swelling in the lower third of the forearm (biceps muscle “bulging” towards the elbow).
Treatment is usually conservative, with any residual complaints usually being maintained by the condition of the rest of the shoulder rather than the injury itself.
