What is FDM therapy all about?

In FDM treatments, the muscle belly is treated with a stronger push/pull stimulus.

But what is a muscle belly?

The muscle buoy, also known as fascia covers the whole human body. A membranous formula, most commonly found in the processing of chicken breasts. In the past, no particular role was attributed to muscle blisters, but research in recent years has shown that can be the cause of many musculoskeletal complaints. It has three layers that can move relative to each other. The muscular plexus surrounds the muscles, muscle groups and internal organs. Sedentary lifestyle, repetitive bad movements, incorrect posture, trauma, immobilisation cause the layers to stick together and restrict movement in the affected joint.

According to the FDM, there are six different ways in which a lesion can occur in the structure of the muscle fibre.

In all cases, the treatment is detailed anamnesis recording is preceded by a list of complaints and medical history, or by asking the patient to show where it hurts. This is an important moment in the therapy. Based on the patient's body language diagnose the particular muscle lesion. Therapeutic techniques are applied according to the lesion.

The treatment is painful, we communicate constantly with the patient, we go up to about a 7 on a scale of 10. You may develop bruising or tenderness, but this disappears after a few days. After a painful treatment, we are compensated by a reduction in pain and a freedom of movement.

The therapist always determines the justification for FDM. Combines well with other therapies: manual therapy, physiotherapy, cough therapy, flossing, TAPE.
